Although many of our programs are funded in whole or in part by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Aging & Independence and the United States Administration on Aging, we depend on and welcome community support to help us meet the needs of local residents.
Donate By Check
Please make checks payable to Greater Lynn Senior Services.
Unless specified otherwise, donations will be credited towards the Greatest Need/Unrestricted fund. This allows GLSS the flexibility to apply your gift to programs where it is most needed. If you would like your donation to be credited to a specific program, please write the name of the program in the memo line on the check. You can see a list of programs at the bottom of this page.

Employer Matching
Many employers offer corporate gift matching which can multiply your gift.
Talk to your Human Resources department to see if your employer offers a matching gift program.

Specific Program Options
If you would prefer your donation be applied to a specific program, here are some options to choose from. Otherwise, we’ll apply your gift to the Greatest Need/Unrestricted fund.
The Lique Living Legacy Fund
Vince Lique, the former Executive Director of GLSS who died in 2006, and his wife, Kathy, made a generous donation to establish an emergency fund at GLSS in 2004. This emergency fund has since been renamed in his honor.
The fund allows the agency to provide quick, meaningful assistance to clients needing a helping hand with unusual or unexpected expenses: the kind of emergencies that occur in everyone’s life but that can have a devastating effect on people who may be living on fixed incomes and struggling to maintain their independence. Quite simply, it buys a new pair of eyeglasses or needed food or an air conditioner to keep a homebound client comfortable during a heatwave.
Phoenix Food Hub
A collaboration between GLSS and the Lynn Food Policy Council, Phoenix Food Hub is a food and nutrition resource serving anyone who needs access to good food, healthy cooking classes, and nutrition counseling, free of charge. It is housed on the ground floor of GLSS’ main building on Silsbee Street in Lynn’s Central Square. The goal of the PFH is to provide people with resources to access healthy food and to help them make better, more informed decisions regarding nutritional needs.
The Caregiver Program
The Caregiver Program works with caregivers so they can keep their loved ones at home in a loving environment for as long as possible. The program provides education, support groups, and, if money allows, devices such as voice assistants, safety products, and tactile products to help at home.
Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund
Like the Lique Living Legacy Fund, the Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund has been established to provide support to seniors in the community who are already “living on the edge,” just barely hanging on to their independence, struggling to make ends meet on very low, fixed incomes, forced to make difficult decisions in the face of rising energy costs.
Meals on Wheels
Day in and day out, Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals to 800 homebound, isolated seniors and adults with disabilities. Sometimes the Meals on Wheels drivers are the only people they will see that day. It isn’t just a meal; it is human contact. This helps make our communities more livable for everyone.
Protective Services
Elder abuse and neglect happen all too often - the Protective Services team at GLSS investigates reports of elder abuse, caregiver neglect, and self-neglect, and intervenes when possible to offer older adults a choice to live in safe, supportive environments, with access to the help and services they need.
Information and Referral
Information and Referral specialists help connect consumers and their families to programs, services, and community resources, such as home care, meals, transportation, an advocate...whatever is needed to help people thrive in the community setting they are part of.
Mobile Mental Health
The things that happen as we get older—the loss of a spouse or child; changes in financial status or living situation; physical or other health challenges—can all affect our quality of life. Individuals experiencing depression or feeling worried, anxious, or alone, meet privately with licensed counselors.
Conversations for Caring
The Conversations for Caring program offers low-cost live and pre-recorded CEU courses for health care providers presented by industry professionals. Course topics include presentations on mental and behavioral health issues, neurodegenerative conditions, and substance use disorders.
