  • Group Adult Foster Care

  • Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Program
If you have a chronic or permanent disability or illness, have Medicaid or are eligible for Medicaid, and need help with several aspects of your daily living, you may be eligible for a PCA.
  • Caregiver Support
Caregiving can be one of the most important things you ever do. But it can be frustrating. GLSS can help in two ways: the Elder Care Advisor and Family Caregiver Support programs.
  • Fuel Assistance
If you live in Greater Lynn and are having difficulty paying your home heating bills, we can help you find out about and apply for fuel assistance. GLSS works in partnership with Lynn Economic Opportunity (LEO) to provide help to seniors. For more information, contact LEO at 781-581-7220.
  • Health Benefits Counseling
GLSS can link you up with a volunteer trained and certified through the State’s SHINE (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) program, who can help answer your questions.
  • Homeless Elders Program
If you are 60 or older and living in a shelter or without cooking facilities, we can provide you with a hot breakfast five days a week, Monday – Friday, from 8 AM – 9:30 AM at the Lynn Senior Center, 8 Silsbee Street. A case worker and housing coordinator are available to help you with housing placement and applications for benefits.
  • Money Management
If you or an elder you know needs help to get their monthly bills paid accurately and on time, we can help. Co-sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), this program matches seniors with trained volunteers who help with developing budgets, writing checks, balancing checkbooks, and other needed assistance. Program volunteers are trained by AARP and undergo a CORI (Criminal Offense Records Investigation) check.
  • Hoarding Outreach Partnership Effort
People who clutter or hoard can be helped. We have a Hoarding Best Practices Guide and a hoarding specialist on staff.
