From Boston via Callahan Tunnel off Route 93 (about 12 miles):

  • Upon exiting the Callahan Tunnel, take Route 1A North to the “Bell Circle” Rotary in Revere, stay to the right and continue on Route 1A following signs toward Revere Beach – Lynn. There is another rotary at Wonderland Dog Track and MBTA station; go half way around and continue on Route 1A.
  • After crossing the General Edwards Bridge, continue on Route 1A (the Lynnway) through a series of traffic lights. About a mile after the bridge get in the left lane and turn left, following the signs for route 1A.
  • Make a right turn at the next light (approximately 50 feet) onto Broad Street (Route 1A). North Shore Community College (NSCC) will be on the right. Pass between NSCC and commuter parking ramp, continue north on Broad Street, approximately four blocks.
  • At the next intersection there is traffic light; (there is a sign for Silsbee Street on the left); get in left turn lane and take a left onto Silsbee Street. Go two blocks, passing under commuter rail track.
  • One-half block after track, Silsbee Street becomes one way. Take forced right turn. GLSS parking lot is immediately on your left, or park in Lynn municipal lot on opposite side of the street (entrance at end of block on right).

NOTE: Special Instructions for Vehicles 11 Feet or Taller
The commuter rail underpass at Silsbee Street is too low for vehicles over 11 feet tall. After taking a right onto Broad Street (Route 1A), pass North Shore Community College (which is on the right) turn left at the first traffic light onto Spring Street.

  • At the end of Spring Street, take a left onto Exchange Street. There is traffic light immediately ahead under the commuter rail tracks. This is the intersection of Union Street and Central Avenue.
  • Take a right onto Union Street, and continue north on Union Street for two more blocks.
  • Turn right onto Silsbee Street (landmarks: Eastern Bank on right; Lynn Community Health Center on left).
  • GLSS building is on the left, across from Eastern Bank parking lot.

From Route 128/95 and Route 93 Intersection:

  • Take Route 128/95 North, get off at Exit 44B ("Route 1 and 129 – Danvers and Lynn").
  • At end of ramp, bear right onto Route 129. After about 1/2 mile go around rotary and stay on Route 129 towards Lynn.
  • In approximately 2 miles, road forks with lake on left. Watch for Route 129 sign and stay left.
  • In about 3/4 mile, Route 129 turns north (left) at Western Avenue. DO NOT TURN. Continue straight onto Chestnut Street, and go through four more sets of lights.
  • At Union Street (Melvin's Variety Store) turn right. Silsbee Street is sixth left (Eastern Bank on corner). GLSS is across from bank parking lot.

From North Traveling on Route128/95 South:

  • Take Route 128/95 South; get off at Exit 44 (Route 1). Stay to the right, follow signs for Route 1 South; this is a long, looping exit ramp curving to the right.
  • At the second set of stoplights, turn left onto Lynnfield Street (Route 129).
  • Proceed about 1.5 miles on Lynnfield Street to the Route 129 Rotary, continue as per Route 128/93 directions above into Lynn.

From Boston Traveling East on Route 16 or 60:

  • Take either Route 16 or Route 60 all the way to the end at Bell Circle in Revere (for Route 60 take American Legion Parkway past Rotary at Route 107, follow signs for Route 1A).
  • From Bell Circle, follow directions as above for “From Boston via Callahan Tunnel.”

From the West via the Mass. Pike I-90 (points beyond Route 128/95):

  • Take I-90 East, get off at Exit 15 (Newton); follow signs to 95 North and South/ Route 128. Stay to RIGHT after toll to Route 128 North.
  • Continue North on Route 128/95 to Route 93, then follow directions above “From Route 128/95 and Route 93 Intersection.”
