Lynn Community Elder Services (LCES) is a private non-profit established in 1998 to administer the direct service programs initiated by GLSS. Our programs serve seniors throughout the North Shore of Boston.

Briarcliff Adult Day Health

Located at the newly renovated, historic Briarcliff Lodge in Lynn, these programs provide daily care outside the home for the most vulnerable in our community—frail elders and disabled adults—who are otherwise at risk of nursing home placement. Briarcliff houses three adult day health programs:

• A Social Day Program with structured activities and non-medical monitoring for clients who are at risk of losing their independence through isolation or self-neglect;
• An Adult Day Health program provides medical monitoring, rehabilitation and maintenance therapies, and care coordination for seniors with medical needs; and
• A “Day Away” Alzheimer’s Adult Day Health Care program, which has a 1:4 staff to client ratio to meet the unique needs of this population and provides activities and an environment designed to maximize function for those with memory loss.

Companion Program

Our friendly, affordable Companions are dependable, caring men and women who have been carefully chosen and trained to help elders live with independence and dignity. If you, or an elder person you know, are living alone, with limited ability to perform daily tasks, one of our Companions can make a welcome difference. Help is available on a temporary or permanent basis. A Companion is a good alternative for the elder whose family works during the day, the senior on his or her own with family far away, or the elder with medical conditions who feels uneasy being alone.
