There are currently several vacancies on GLSS' Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. If you know someone who is a resident of Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus, or Swampscott and has an interest in older persons - perhaps a client - who might like to serve, please have them contact Ann Miller, Planner, at 781-586-8616 or by e-mail at amiller@glss.net.

Here is a brief description of responsibilities associated with membership:

• Representing the interests of older persons;

• Reviewing and commenting on all community policies, programs, and actions which affect older persons with the intent of assuring maximum coordination and responsiveness to older persons.

• Developing and administering the Area Plan;

The term of membership is three years and may be renewed through reappointment by the GLSS Board of Directors. The Council usually meets on the second Wednesday of each month and must meet at least six times during the calendar year.
